Dr Hannah Butler-Coyne is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and Sport Psychologist*, offering highly specialist expertise across both clinical and performance settings.
One of a very small number of psychologists in the United Kingdom dual-trained in both clinical and sport psychology—working at the intersection of mental health and performance.
Hannah’s expertise allows her to integrate in-depth clinical understanding with performance-focused approaches when supporting individuals, teams, and organisations. She has worked with athletes and teams from grassroots to elite level whilst also performing actors (such as dancers, actors and singers), addressing both psychological wellbeing and performance demands.
Working with children, young people, adults, and families, Hannah supports a wide range of mental health difficulties and complex needs. Hannah brings extensive clinical and leadership experience from senior roles across multiple sectors, including the NHS and private practice.
Hannah is also the co-founder of Pilatology®, an approach that integrates mind and body to support balanced psychological and physical health, tailored to individual or group needs.
Alongside her clinical and applied work, Hannah lectures at the University of Lancashire and is a visiting lecturer across universities and colleges throughout the North West of England. She has also supervised a range of clinical professionals, supporting both their clinical practice and academic development, and is passionate about helping individuals to grow in confidence and capability within their roles.
She regularly presents her research at national conferences, publishes in peer-reviewed academic journals, and has written book chapters and articles for sports magazines.
Hannah combines evidence-based care with a collaborative approach, focusing on truly understanding your unique needs and experiences.
